This is one of my most popular photos on my Flickr account, but I don’t think I have posted it here before. I took this photo with a pocket camera in Peru. I visited Trujillo several times while staying nearby in Huanchaco. I liked Huanchaco much more.

I took this photo of Ollantaytambo in November of 2007. These are Incan ruins in Peru’s Sacred Valley. Once you climb up the terraces, you can see other structures on nearby mountains. You can also see the quarry where the building stones came from. The quarry is nine kilometers away, on top of another mountain.

I have seen tilt-shift photography all over the place lately. Tilt-shift photography uses a special lens that controls the plane of focus and line of sight. This keeps the subject sharp and keeps parallel lines from coming together.
