Golden Silk Spider, in Sheldon Lake State Park
The The Friends of Sheldon Lake SP (FOSL) emailed me a few days ago to let me know about a photo contest they are hosting. It sounds like a neat event for any Houston photographers that are interested.
The Friends of Sheldon Lake SP (FOSL) is sponsoring the park’s first photo contest dubbed the Sheldon Lake Shutter Slingers Shootout (SL3S).
The SL3S contest runs from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. FOSL has staked the SL3S contest to over $700 in prize money and gift certificates. There’s plenty of opportunities to win cash and other prizes with two competitive divisions, quarterly judging and four photographic categories.
The Greenhorn Division is for youth photographers under 18-years-old. Greenhorns will compete for $250 in gift certificates. The Bounty Hunter division is open to anyone who wants to compete for the cash. Bounty Hunters will compete for cash prizes totaling $450.
Adults pay an entry fee of $10. Current FOSL members and participants under 18-years-old can sign-up at no charge.
Check out the FOSL website for full details.
Also, it looks like the membership cost is $10. So, you might as well join for $10 and enter the contest free, rather than pay $10 for the contest and not be a member.
