This looks like a photo of miniature llamas because of a tilt-shift effect.

I have seen tilt-shift photography all over the place lately. Tilt-shift photography uses a special lens that controls the plane of focus and line of sight. This keeps the subject sharp and keeps parallel lines from coming together.

The effect makes your subject look miniature.

If you don’t have the equipment, you can fake it. I created the image above using the website TiltShift. Use Photoshop or GIMP if you want.

Of course, this isn’t really a substitute. For me, it is just fun to play with.
